Day One
(Nifty title huh?)

Greta Coe washed up on the shore of an island all alone. She knew when she had boarded that party boat for her mothers birthday party that something was going to go wrong. She just figured it would be another one her mothers "set-up" attempts. So when she wished the boat would sink, she hadn't really been serious.

Now, what she going to do? All the survival training she had done as a child in the girl scouts kicked in. She waded out into the water to see if anything had floated in with her. At least a piece of the boat had come with her, so she had shelter. She managed to salvage a table and two cheap chair from the boat as well as a really soggy sleeping bag. She almost managed to find a small bench to sit on. Luckily, the piece of boat she had found came equipped with a small shower, sink, and toilet.

Now she would need food and some natural materials to make living comfy. So she put all those swimming lessons she whined about as a child to good use. She went snorkeling. She managed to find two gems in the water which she promptly began to turn into something usable. Next she found two shells and a toy Loch Ness. At least she'd have something cuddle with.

Realizing she didn't know how to cook, she quickly came to realization that fishing might be useless at this point, but she tried it anyway. Not catching a thing, Greta still felt as though she learned something that would help her anyway.

Inside she managed to find a small box of cereal that somehow survived the trek intact. So a cold meal of cereal later and she was feeling down about her first day surviving by herself. Looking into a small scrap of glass she had salvaged, she gave herself a pep-talk for tomorrow. Getting into her still slightly soggy sleeping bag, she slowly drifted of to sleep dreaming of living in her small box like apartment in Bridgeport.
