Day Ten

For the first time in forever, Greta woke up feeling excited about just getting up. The new bed was amazing! So warm and comfy, she almost didn't want to get out. Oh and the shower, it was like heaven! Not quite sure how whoever put it in did it, but she had hot water. Hot water, imagine it! Feeling like a million bucks, and gauging her bumps and scratches as not that bad, she headed out to explore that cave.

The chickens seemed fine, Charles was his usual nasty self. Even that couldn't ruin her day now. Greta gathered the eggs, and headed towards the beach. She couldn't believe the sight that awaited her. A single flower was growing just up from the sand. It was so beautiful, Greta smelled it and remembered trips to the park with her mother. Gosh, that felt like a lifetime ago. Greta picked the flower and stuck it in her bag. Then headed out to the water.

She made it back down to the cave, and lucky her, no sharks. Greta looked all around her, before heading into the cave. In the darkness, she thought she could see something moving. Putting it out of her mind, she forged ahead. This cave seemed to go on forever! Finally, spying some light, she shot ahead and exited out in a completely new spot, and what a spot it was. There was another treasure chest, and plethora of fish to catch.

After looting the chest, Greta set about catching as many fish as she could. Finally exhausted after chasing down so much yummy food, Greta decided to just float for a moment. That's when she noticed the shark from yesterday, and this time he had brought a friend. Feeling her wet suit get warm suddenly, she quickly ducked down into the cave and headed back the way she had come. Well, what she hoped was the way she had come.

Exiting the cave, she was happy that she recognized these seaweed patches, and dirt, or was it sand? Who cares! She loved it either way. Deciding not to press her luck, she started for the surface. Almost at the top, something swimming below caught her eye. Oh no! Was it the shark? Had it followed her? Wasn't it too big to fit in the cave? Wait, what was that? Nah, it couldn't be. Greta shook her head and laughed, those only existed in fairy tales. She could have sworn it smiled and waved at her though.

Back at the ranch, I mean island, Greta noticed something red between all the brambles. It was another flower. This time her favorite one, a cosmos. Oh, how absolutely lovely! She picked it and Stuffed it, along with everything else she wanted into her mailbox. Going downstairs she put her new fridge and stove to good use. She could get used to cooking her own meals.

Incredibly tired, and wanting to snuggle down in her covers, Greta headed for bed.
